Hyper Local Eats: Keeping It All in the Famiglia

Arco Café

Owner Daniele Fiori and his sister Francesa hold down the fort at Arco Café, a new Italian restaurant at 886 Amsterdam Avenue specializing in the cuisine of their homeland, Sardinia.  With extremely reasonable prix-fixe menus at lunch and for an early supper priced at $12 and $14 respectively, it's worth checking out.

Their warm welcome and delicious coffee make me think of this cozy Lawrence Ferlinghetti poem:

Recipe for Happiness
Khaborovsk Or Anyplace
One grand boulevard with trees
with one grand café in sun
with strong black coffee in very small cups.
One not necessarily very beautiful
man or woman who loves you.
One fine day.

Look for Francesca and Daniele's fetching outdoor tables, and let your fine day begin.

What a great Blogsite Caitlin! Please add me to your email list!

i totally agree with you about Henry's kale salad. Its a must everytime I am there whether it be for a burger or fish or pasta. Thanks for the tip on adding the chicken breast. Seared tuna would be even better for me!

And, Silver Moon Bakery is such a blessing. I am "addicted" to their biallys made with special care and so delicious i can't even describle them. Try it if you haven't already!
